Bernardo was foreign associate (2000-2001) in the Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett LLP New York office. Likewise, he has been a partner at Kuri Breña, Sánchez Ugarte y Aznar, S.C. since 2003, a firm he joined in 1994.
Throughout his career, Bernardo has represented numerous clients in the financing and restructuring of energy, industrial facilities, toll road projects and other infrastructure projects; and in the acquisition process of various companies in Mexico by foreign investors.
He has also participated in the process of restructuring liabilities of large construction companies and the steel industry, including the placement and exchange of securities with the investing public in Mexico and abroad
Bernardo has represented developing banks and other credit institutions in debt restructuring and work-out proceedings for the settlement of distressed loans and credit facilities.
